Artist Statement

“I see my work as a dialogue between my subconscious and the tangible world.  By deconstructing and reinterpreting subjects, both through the lens and with digital manipulation, I create visual translations of my own psychology.  I often find my projects taking on personalities of their own and directing themselves in ways I would never imagine.  In this way, I think my art is the purest and most direct form of communication I can manage.  It’s simultaneously an act of aesthetics, catharsis, and mediumship.”  ~B Paul Patterson, Dec 19, 2011
