Winter Windows

Untitled Project

December 2011

Just some personal shooting.  I’ve been fascinated with shooting into buildings through their windows at night lately.  Interesting ideas there…

Nocturnal Storefronts

Nocturnal Storefronts

Just a small series I made for an assignment.  I like to wander Sarasota a lot a night, and one of the things that interests me visually is the multitude of darkened storefronts you find.  The little vignettes of consumer landscapes, once darkened and abandoned, seem to take on a life of their own and describe a different atmosphere than what is intended.  These images were shot through the windows of stores in St. Armand’s Circle at about 2 in the morning.  They were completed with a bit of HDR and some experimentation with black and white.  I definitely plan on continuing this body of work in the near future.

One Day in Sarasota : Alleys

August 29th, 2011

This is my contribution to a recent project called One Day in Sarasota, which involved all of the other photo students in my year.  The idea behind the project was to shoot a subject of our choice, somewhere in Sarasota, Florida on August 29th, 2011.  The end result is a series of diptychs that feature small, meditative glimpses of some of the city’s hidden facades.

Photo Flood: Old Film Work

Miscellaneous Film Work

June ~ November 2006

This is just a scattering of random orphaned projects from my time in the Midwest.  I have a lot of negatives from this time period that were never printed or digitized, they’re just sitting around waiting to be printed or scanned; and this is what I have in digital from that mess so far.  A lot of these were taken in industrial complexes/rail yards near Omaha, St.Louis, and Kansas City.
